La Base de Plein Air d’Eguzon (The BPA),
a key player in the 2024 Games !
It all began on November 21, 2019, when the district council of the Creuse Valley (CDC), on which we depend, was awarded the « Terre de Jeux 2024 » label. Thanks to this label, our region is recognized for its ability to bring more sports into the daily lives of its residents. The base then offers multi-sport events themed around the Olympic Games to introduce young people to certain Olympic sports.
With various CDC departments, we also organized two « Terre de Jeux » sporting events open to all from 2022 to 2023 – “On the Road to 2024” – to raise awareness among residents, inform them, and introduce them to the Olympic values and the practice of sports.
The BPA, a stone's throw from the flame
On Monday, May 27, 2024, the Olympic torch passed through our region. The torchbearers crossed the Creuse River via the brand new Himalayan footbridge that now connects the municipalities of Cuzion and Baraize. Everyone present, including us, the outdoor activities centre, had the chance to see the Paris 2024 flame up close.
A historic moment for the CDC, the Indre department, and the whole France ! Highlighting our region nationally and internationally, this emotional day brought together approximately 800 school children from the region and many visitors. A large number of workshops and sports activities were organized by us and the Eguzon middle school for the event.
The BPA: A Sports Training Center
Thanks to our motivation, the lake, and our facilities, our outdoor activities centre was also selected as a Games Preparation Center on October 5, 2020. This means we have the full potential to welcome all amateur and professional sports teams from all backgrounds, in the best conditions for sports training !

As proof, we were subsequently selected as the accommodation center for the French Olympic Shooting Team for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
With the event taking place in Châteauroux throughout the Games, the French Shooting Team chose us to isolate themselves and benefit from the comfort and tranquility of our facilities, thus allowing them to rest and focus on their objectives during the competition.
Thus, throughout the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, our entire team did everything possible to welcome the French team in the best possible conditions and ensure they enjoyed an optimal stay during this unique event.
